Are we designing accounting education for the wrong world?

Dr. Ramchandra Bhusal calls for a fundamental rethinking of professional development in the digital age

In this free webinar, Dr. Ramchandra Bhusal asks whether accounting education is still being designed around assumptions that no longer fully reflect how modern professional learning takes place. Drawing on his recent paper Bhusal, R. (2026) Applied professional formation: a conceptual framework for rethinking accounting education in the digital age (2026), Accounting Education the session discusses Applied Professional Formation (APF) as a conceptual framework for understanding how professional identity, judgment, and capability develop across multiple learning domains.

The session will consider why traditional linear models of professional development need rethinking, how AI and digital systems are reshaping professional judgment, and what this means for the future of accounting education.
