The work you’re supporting

Accounting education matters. The work you do shapes how future professionals think. Yet educators—whether in schools, universities, or professional training—rarely have opportunities to learn from colleagues working in different contexts, despite facing similar challenges and teaching overlapping content.

Accounting Cafe provides a space where you can contribute your ideas, hear from other educators, and discover that the challenges you face are shared by others. It connects local voices to a global conversation. School teachers in Manchester share approaches with university lecturers in Melbourne. Professional trainers in Dublin discover strategies from academics in Delhi. Classroom intelligence becomes part of an international dialogue.

This work depends on practical infrastructure: events where educators meet, platforms that enable conversations, and networks that connect teaching intelligence from across contexts.

Community Supporters join educators who value connection, contribution, and being heard. Importantly, they ensure this space remains freely available to anyone and everyone.

Our four areas of activity

Your contribution funds a unique community that’s actively reshaping accounting education

Connecting people: We bring together educators, professionals and regulators, providing valuable spaces for cross-institutional collaboration.

Creating knowledge: Our community shares teaching insights that otherwise remain local. Innovation is pursued when driven by need, evidence, and practicality.

Shaping perceptions: We influence how accounting education is understood and valued, ensuring educator perspectives reach those who set the direction of the profession.

Sharing resources: Through teacher-development programmes, we provide practical tools and materials that educators can use immediately.

All of this happens independently—no corporate influence, no institutional bias, just educators supporting educators.

Being a Community Supporter means:

  • You’re recognised as someone who invests in accounting education beyond your own institution.
  • You join quarterly virtual roundtable sessions with fellow supporters—informal conversations about teaching, challenges, and innovations.
  • You receive our brief annual update on how the community is developing.
  • You know you’re keeping this resource independent and available to educators worldwide

Suggested contribution: £25 annually (but any amount helps)

Individuals are invited to contribute £25 per year. For organisations wishing to support our work, an institutional contribution of £300 is suggested.

Why now?

Accounting Cafe operates on a shoestring budget with volunteer contributors, but our hosting, email systems, and development work require funding.

Modest annual spending of approximately £5,000 keeps this infrastructure running, helps us grow and maintains our independence. With your support, we can focus on what matters most — creating a community that genuinely improves accounting education worldwide.
