An opportunity to explore the potential of AI marking

At Accounting Cafe, we believe in more than just sharing knowledge. In our own small way, we want to shape the future of accounting education.

AI marking is one of the most exciting and underexplored frontiers in accounting education. Beyond the obvious efficiency gains, it has potential for improved consistency of marking, more personalised feedback to students at scale, and may reduce unconscious human bias. We don’t yet know how well it works at degree level in accounting, which assessment types it suits, or where the limits are.

We are looking to work with partner academics and institutions to understand its limitations and explore its potential. This is early-stage exploratory work. There are no grand promises, just a genuine curiosity to learn what’s possible and an invitation to help shape something that could benefit accounting educators and students everywhere.

If you or your organisation would like to learn more about how AI marking might work on Undergraduate or Masters Degree accounting programmes, please contact me: stuart@pedley-smith.co.uk
