Toby York
Founder of Accounting Cafe
Biography
Toby York is a chartered accountant with board-level experience in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. He is the Research & Development director at Wealthvox. This training company owns and licenses the Colour Accounting Learning System for use in financial education workshops in commercial and academic settings.
Toby is also a part-time senior lecturer in accounting at Middlesex University, London, with teaching interests in fundamentals of accounting, accounting theory and entrepreneurial finance.
In 2021, he founded Accounting Cafe, a community for accounting educators and learners. Accounting Cafe provides resources, videos, courses, seminars and workshops, and a place for discussion and debate.
Toby sits on the ICAEW Academia & Education Community advisory group and is a member of the Employer Validation Panel for T Level in Accounting.
He joined the Accounting Streams advisory panel in 2023. Accounting Streams is transforming accounting education to encourage a generation of versatile decision-makers who value accountability and sustainable development.
